Wicketed bags for produce

Printed mesh and combo bags for packers running automatic wicket baggers.

A wicketed bag is a bag that ships stacked on a wire wicket, held by holes punched through the lip. The wicket hangs on the bagger, the machine opens the top bag, the product drops in, and the filled bag is pulled off the wire so the next one is ready. No operator separating bags by hand, which is what lets a line keep pace.

Putting a bag on a wicket does not change what the produce needs. Which format you put on the wire comes down to the same trade-off as everywhere else in the packing house: how much air the crop needs, and how much print area the shelf asks for.

What the bag has to do

  • Bags that release from the wicket one at a time, at line speed
  • Ventilation matched to the crop, so it does not sweat in the bag
  • A print face for retail, or plain mesh for repacking and food service

Bags we supply for wicket baggers

Same machine, different trade-offs: how much air the crop gets and how much of the bag carries your brand.

Wicketed bag questions

What is a wicketed bag?

A bag delivered stacked on a wire wicket through holes punched in its lip, so an automatic bagger can open, fill and release one bag at a time without an operator separating them.

Which of your bags come on wickets?

All mesh bags and combo bags are built for automatic wicket bag systems. Header bags also run on wicket systems, as well as on carousel machines and hand packing.

What weights can a wicketed bag carry?

All mesh bags run from 1 lb to 7 lb, combo bags from 1 lb to 10 lb, and header bags from 1/2 lb to 10 lb.

Can wicketed bags be custom printed?

Yes. Combo bags carry a high-end printed poly face beside the net window, header bags print up to 8 colours on the header, and all mesh bags carry bold printed graphics.

How are they closed after filling?

Combo bags close with Kwik Lok or traditional packing systems. All mesh bags close with clip, stitch or seal, depending on what your line already runs.
